This client came to me not only as a client, but as a co-worker and a friend. I first met Zack when we worked together at O1NE, a skateboard boutique, while I was attending college. I played a large role in O1NE’s branding and media as their designer and photographer. As the resident designer and photographer at O1NE, Zack put his trust in me to help design his skateboard brand, CREO. We settled on the name after researching Latin terms, we landed on CREO which is Latin for create.

Free form, free flowing and with endless style is how I would describe skateboarding. That description is what I wanted to embody within the brand. I wanted to avoid the typical process of simply choosing a font. Using a calligraphic approach, the initial logo stared out as a sketch. From there,
I scanned the drawing into Illustrator and vectorized it. I wanted to have two versions of the logo to play with for versatility when it came to creating the merchandise. I wanted the brand the to reflect the endless creativity and style, like skateboarding does. The main slogan for this brand was “Create Your World”.
